Santiago Tomás Giménez
(Buenos Aires, Argentina, 18 de abril de 2001) es un futbolista argentino-mexicano que juega como delantero en el Feyenoord de Róterdam de la Eredivisie. Es internacional absoluto con México.

Club Deportivo Cruz Azul
Inicios
Comenzó su carrera en Cruz Azul, donde pasó por la categoría sub-15 y sub-17. Paco Jémez lo debuta profesionalmente en copa el 2 de agosto de 2017 en el empate 1-1 ante los Tigres de la UANLen el Estadio Universitario
Debut
Debutó en la Liga MX con Cruz Azul el 28 de agosto de 2019 contra los Xolos de Tijuana iniciando el partido con el cuadro titular, en lo que fueron sus primeros minutos en la máxima categoría de México.
Debido a las lesiones en el equipo previo al Clausura 2020, Robert Siboldi le da la titularidad en el inicio de campaña contra el Atlas, partido que culminó 1-2 a favor de los visitantes. Anota su primer gol como profesional en la jornada 4, en el empate 3-3 ante el Toluca en la Bombonera.3 Realiza su segunda anotación en la victoria 3-1 en el Estadio Azteca ante el Pachuca.4
Feyenoord de Róterdam[editar]
El 29 de julio de 2022, Giménez se incorporó al Feyenoord con un contrato de cuatro años.5 Marcó su primer gol para el club el 27 de agosto, anotando el segundo gol en la victoria del club por 4-0 sobre el FC Emmen y también brindó la asistencia para que Jacob Rasmussen anotara el tercer gol del club.6
El 8 de septiembre, hizo su debut en la UEFA Europa League contra el club italiano Lazio en la edición de esa temporada en un partido de la fase de grupos, entrando como suplente en el minuto 64 y anotando dos veces en la derrota del club por 4-2.7 El 3 de noviembre, tras entrar como suplente, anotó el único gol en la victoria por 1-0 ante la Lazio en la fase de grupos de la UEFA Europa League, lo que les otorgó el primer puesto del grupo y la clasificación directa a los octavos de final.8
Durante este ciclo, alcanzó los 20 goles en su primera temporada, lo que igualó la marca de Javier Hernández, con la mejor productividad de un mexicano debutante en Europa.9Finalmente se proclamó campeón en la temporada 2022-2023.10

Club career
Cruz Azul
On 30 August 2017, Giménez made his professional debut with Cruz Azul in a Copa MX group stage match against Tigres UANL in a 2–1 victory.[1] Two years later, on 28 August 2019, he made his Liga MX debut against Tijuana in a 3–2 loss.[2] He would score his first goal with the club on 2 February 2020, in a league match against Toluca in a 3–3 tie, scoring within the first two minutes of the match.
In August 2021, scoring in 4 separate league matches, was named Player of the Month.
Feyenoord
On 29 July 2022, Giménez joined Feyenoord on a four-year contract. He scored his first goal for the club on 27 August, scoring the second goal in the club's 4–0 win over FC Emmen while also providing the assist for Jacob Rasmussen to score the club's third goal. On 8 September, he made his UEFA Europa Leaguedebut against Italian club Lazio in that season's edition in a group stage match, coming on as a substitute at the 64th minute and scoring twice in the club's 4–2 loss. On 3 November, after coming on as a substitute, scored the only goal in a 1–0 victory against Lazio in the UEFA Europea League group stage, granting them first place in the group and directly qualifying to the round of 16.
International career
Despite having the option of representing his native birthplace of Argentina, Giménez decided to represent Mexico, stating "I feel more Mexican than Argentine,"having lived in Mexico for the majority of his time since his father moved there. He has been called up by Mexico's U-15, U-18, U-20, and U-23 teams. He made 3 appearances with the Mexico U16s at the 2016 International Dream Cup.
In September 2020, he received his first senior national team call up by Gerardo Martino for a training camp. That same month, it was reported that the Argentina national under-20 team coach Fernando Batista was interested in calling him up.
On 27 October 2021, Giménez made his senior debut for Mexico in a friendly match against Ecuador.[15] On 8 December, he scored his first goal for Mexico in a friendly match against Chile that ended at a 2–2 draw.
In October 2022, Giménez was named in Mexico's preliminary 31-man squad for the World Cup, but did not make the final 26.
Personal life
He is the son of Christian Giménez, who also played with Cruz Azul. Apart from his native Spanish, Giménez can also speak English. Giménez is a devout Christian and was baptized in January 2019.
